Join us for a week of exciting events to celebrate the amazing seniors in our community!

Morinville Senior's Week is brought to you by Morinville Familly & Community Support Services and our Proud Supporting Partner, CHARTwell St. Albert Retirement Residence.

Monday, June 3 | 1 to 4 p.m
Style Swap Spectacle: A Trendy Twist on Thrifted Fashion 
Morinville Community Cultural Centre 

Join us for this exciting collaboration with Morinville Community High School fashion/cosmetology students for a unique and sustainable fashion experience of thrifting and clothing swapping, where the afternoon kicks off with a captivating fashion show featuring curated items from Fusion and Midstream, local thrift stores known for their hidden gems. Maximize your styling options and let your wardrobe become a canvas for expressing the vibrant and unique masterpiece that is you! Don't miss this opportunity to revitalize your wardrobe, contribute to local thrift stores and enjoy refreshments while refreshing your wardrobe. Any leftover clothing will be donated to Fusion and Midstream, allowing them to offer affordable and stylish options to their patrons. 

Please drop off your gently worn, ADULT-only clothing (freshly washed/folded), if possible, that morning between 9am-noon for sorting before the event. Spring/Summer clothing is appreciated. It's not necessary to donate clothing to attend and all clothing is FREE.

Rendez-Vous & FCSS Harmony: Celebrating Older Adults & Seniors Together 
Morinville Rendez-Vous Centre 

Join us for a special collaboration between the Rendez-Vous Centre and Morinville FCSS during Seniors Week!

Discover the array of programs and services offered by both organizations in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. This event is an excellent opportunity to meet new friends, learn about the exciting offerings available, and engage with the vibrant adults 50+ community.

Complimentary coffee and snacks will be provided, creating a relaxed environment for socializing and connecting. Whether you're a regular at the Rendez-Vous Centre or new to the community, come and enjoy a delightful time while discovering the enriching programs and services tailored for adults 50+. Let's celebrate Seniors Week together with warmth, camaraderie, and the joy of building connections within our community.

Free to attend, walk-ins welcome.

Enhance your balance, thrive in daily activities, and boost wellness with holistic approaches. Invest in your well-being and embrace a vibrant, active lifestyle with renewed energy and vitality.

Laugh Lines: Evening Comedy Delight 
Morinville Community Cultural Centre 

Experience GeriActors & Friends, an intergenerational theatre group, presenting original plays on aging stories. Their diverse cast spans twenties to nineties, bringing authentic narratives to life.

After the play, join a unique discussion connecting actors and the audience, sharing stories and insights. It's an afternoon of theatre that goes beyond the stage, fostering community and meaningful conversations about life's richness. Don't miss this engaging, inspiring experience! 

Refreshments will be provided by CHARTwell St. Albert Retirement Residence and Heart to Home Meals, Edmonton will be on site sharing information about their services.

Friday, June 7 | 5 p.m. 
Senior Soul Soirée: Building Healthy Connections  
Bistro Di Madre Piccola, 10015 100 Avenue   

A gathering tailored for single seniors to explore insights into relationship wellness through a brief presentation by the Stop Abuse in Families (SAiF) Society. Attendees will have the opportunity to connect and socialize with other singles, with icebreaker games to ease any shyness.

The event includes a delicious three-course fine dining meal, along with coffee and tea—all for a nominal fee of $20. (Additional food/drinks may be purchased separately if desired).

Each attendee will receive a "Date Essentials Kit" (valued at over $20)!

$20 per person, registration is required.
